The goal of LASIK eye surgery is to produce clearer, sharper vision.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"%D9%85%D9%88%D8%A7%D8%B1%D8%AF_%D8%A7%D8%B3%D8%AA%D9%81%D8%A7%D8%AF%D9%87_%D8%A7%D8%B2_%D8%B9%D9%85%D9%84_%D8%AC%D8%B1%D8%A7%D8%AD%DB%8C_%D9%84%DB%8C%D8%B2%DB%8C%DA%A9\"><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>LASIK eye surgery may be an option for you if you have one of these vision problems:<\/strong><\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Nearsightedness (myopia).\u00a0When your eyeball is slightly longer than normal or when the cornea curves too sharply, light rays focus in front of the retina and blur distant vision. You can see objects that are close more clearly, but not those that are far away.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Farsightedness (hyperopia).\u00a0When you have a shorter than average eyeball or a cornea that is too flat, light focuses behind the retina instead of on it. Undercorrections are more common for people who are nearsighted.You may need another refractive surgery (enhancement surgery) within a year to remove more tissue.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Overcorrections.\u00a0It\u2019s also possible that the laser will remove too much tissue from your eye. Overcorrections may be more difficult to fix than undercorrections.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Vision returning to pre-surgery vision.\u00a0Over time, your eyes may slowly return to the level of vision you had before surgery. This may happen due to certain conditions, such as abnormal wound healing, hormonal imbalances or pregnancy.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Visual loss or changes.\u00a0Rarely, you may experience loss of vision due to surgical complications. Some people also may not see as sharply or clearly as previously.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Astigmatism.\u00a0Astigmatism can be caused by uneven tissue removal. It may require additional surgery, glasses or contact lenses.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Glare, halos and double vision.\u00a0After surgery you may have difficulty seeing at night. You might notice glare, halos around bright lights or double vision.Even when a good visual result is measured under standard testing conditions, your vision in dim light (such as at dusk or in fog) may be reduced to a greater degree after the surgery than before the surgery.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Dry eyes.\u00a0LASIK causes a temporary decrease in tear production. For the first six months or so after your surgery, your eyes may feel unusually dry as they heal. Dry eyes can reduce the quality of your vision.Your eye doctor might recommend that you use eyedrops during this time. If you experience severe dry eyes, you could opt for another procedure to get special plugs put in your tear ducts to prevent your tears from draining away from the surface of your eyes.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Flap problems.\u00a0Folding back or removing the flap from the front of your eye during surgery can cause complications, including infections, excess tears and inflammation.The outermost corneal tissue layer (epithelium) may grow abnormally underneath the flap during the healing process.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"%D8%B9%D9%88%D8%A7%D9%85%D9%84_%D8%A7%D9%81%D8%B2%D8%A7%DB%8C%D8%B4_%D8%AF%D9%87%D9%86%D8%AF%D9%87_%D8%AE%D8%B7%D8%B1\"><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Conditions that increase risks<\/strong><\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Certain health conditions can increase the risks associated with LASIK surgery or make the outcome less predictable. Doctors may not recommend laser surgery for you if you have certain conditions.\u2028These conditions include:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Autoimmune disorders, such as rheumatoid arthritis<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Immunodeficiency conditions caused by immunosuppressive medications or HIV<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Persistent dry eyes<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Unstable vision due to medications, hormonal changes, pregnancy, breast-feeding or age<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Several eye conditions, such as keratoconus, keratitis, uveitis, herpes simplex affecting the eye area, glaucoma, cataracts, eye injuries or lid disorders<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"%D8%AF%D9%84%D8%A7%DB%8C%D9%84_%D8%B9%D8%AF%D9%85_%D8%AA%D8%AC%D9%88%DB%8C%D8%B2_%D8%AC%D8%B1%D8%A7%D8%AD%DB%8C_%D9%84%DB%8C%D8%B2%DB%8C%DA%A9_%D8%A8%D8%B1%D8%A7%DB%8C_%D8%A8%DB%8C%D9%85%D8%A7%D8%B1\"><\/span><span
